MUTATIONS
At first my limited science knowledge was blown wide open with the concept of molecular intelligence. Then my training moved into the sciences of Chemistry, Physics, and Calculus. Chemistry taught me that molecules are run by even smaller atomic structures. Physics brought me to a world were laws and constants laid foundations for the reasoning behind the movement of atoms. It opened my eyes to more than just the cell and the incredible interconnection of cells that make up multicellular organisms, but a world that was run by forces that controlled the internal workings of atoms. These primary forces being the weak force, the strong force, the electromagnetic force, and gravity. My studies in Calculus helped me to understand the fundamental mathematical equations that justified the existence of this world around me.
Mutations
Deletions, duplications, and rearrangements within our DNA molecules open the way, lead to changes so minute or so extremely large, a population as malleable as bodies of clay. We may be shaking hands with the smallest variant, we each may hold what will make our species go astray, our cells will catch most destructive events, to change or correct a confusion of code, come what may. There are a few possibilities for deletions. Sometimes in the act of copying, a parent may not connect its will with a daughter template strand causing the daughter to be deleted or maybe damaged base pairs will be digested by an errant repair worker, or sometimes there just is a stutter, just a stutter, that shakes things up enough to cause loss, a lack of code that causes change with its error. When one deletion is mated with another fragments of DNA fall upon DNA fragments of a similar nature, this factor causes a duplication of codon, lets say that this twin only confuses those who see them the result being either obvious or hidden, over passing of time this can be quite the problem and our children's children may see the mutation. These mutations may take one hundred years to see yet the changes have most definitely occurred in our neighbours eyes or maybe our brides to be. Most times we think of long distances as absurd, feel only the smallest changes in you or me, in nature, though, we are all the same as the birds. Even with the repairman working to set us free our DNA mutates and keeps us all shackled. |
Nuclear QuatrainsRecent history has been destined to explode
since Democritus named the very first atom this discovery was not all that random balanced by the principle of Avagodro. So Faraday and Maxwell could see a shock, hurried right into radioactivity, the science, the death, Pierre, Marie Curie, of quanta and the ever radiant Max Planck. Deep in the Cavendish Laboratory, physics moved forward into atomic radiation where Lord Rutherford found the devious proton, Enrico Fermi's uranium stunned critics. The possibilities of the heat of the sun, committees of defense were soon to be formed a chance to finally see the act of fission to watch in the shade of Lower Manhattan. To see if things worked as theorized by Einstein, a chance to create our own plutonium we knew that such power had been proven a crime, the power released at "Trinity," that first time. Let us never forget Nagasaki or the role of science for the National Defense, let us never forget destructive nonsense and to remain responsibly guilty. |
Thank You to "Hello Flow"I want to thank you "Hello Flow,"
comfort while my little girl grows is hard enough for her to find when her uterus is unlined. Discuss reproduction and sex, biology should not perplex, endometrium formation happens prior to menstration and should never make her feel shame to call this occurrence by name, to scream out her monthly decree "way of woman is upon me!" You should love your body with pride know your biological ride there will never be surprise when Aunt Flow visit's arise. From Earth to the MoonI. To Begin With
All American guns arm missing limbed mechanics, grand gunners they are, with metal scalps, hooked handed messengers of war. Bowie knives, arm chairs, whiskey, cotton, tobacco, whale oil, apple pie eating death savants. II. As the Story Goes The mechanisms of their old hall clock, through the years, stored all the tears of the last war to lube the silver springs, so as the time passes light, no other watches will be so late, as such policy demands, so such is war. Yet this year we declare death, doom unto the seas of the moon, without a ploy, we wait for slow victory. The moon - a celestial body, idle and wicked, revolving, engaging in revelries of sin, distilled slowly in rays of morose light. Not so close to declare thunderous applause to war fought with no more than air. III. Drought One last earnest yet elegant epitaph to the foulest of my fears, granted to me with a fogged grace: Oh, monstrous moon, I am opened to you and oppressed. Remove me from rough reality, senile and sour in insecurity, tattered, torn, I am vile in my vanity, by letting the moon wear a smile of red wine, where I should be standing. Weird Weather in NevadaI have been connected to or lived in
the state of Nevada my whole short life up to this day of family and a wife, at the foothills of the Sierra Mountains. Like all states we have weather highs and lows in the winter sometimes a blizzard once in a while an ice storm as hazard, through time a hard hard wind will blow. But never has there been a hurricane, this is something new by all accounts, is there truth in thinking about Earth's tilt, a population trying to stay sane, when ecosystems are destroyed in small amounts, a bankrupt economy will be felt. |
Correlations"Reason only knows what it has succeeded in learning..."
Fyodor Dostoevsky Notes From the Underground Correlation upon correlation, strong correlations that hold up the glass pillars of natures Rome. The points all scatter in a positive manner towards the center of Po flowing the riches of broken pigeon wings through Milan, as if heaven began on the Apennines. When reason returns and sees that another rape has occurred more devastating then in the beginning, a correlation is made, when one lonely bird is gently lifted from blackening traffic consuming the Coliseum, and set on a colorless corner of a gas station to await its fate other than that of the wheel. At the Moment of NegotiationShow me the devil, I will show you
a rare collection of preserved marvels of anatomy thinly sliced specimens of extinction within a short walking distance around the corner at my doorstep. I have always wanted to see a devil. everyday I can see a balance between the placement of the aorta in comparison to the superior vena cava in 4/4 breathing fluid downbeats. This is why I look at your offer with curiosity. Can I get your number? A leaflet? To remind me of this encounter many times. I would like to come back and repeat this conversation. We could drink tea and discuss physiology how we all seemed placed within an internal structure like a small piece of tissue to the organ like a lymph node to an Immunoglobulin. A necessary piece, placed there by a power greater than you have probably ever considered. and would be to passive, scared, or weary to find. All meeting after this primary would unfold into chapters of bio-organic chemical politics, a life lived in bondage of a different sort, a bond recently discovered to be a strength greater than any theorized at subatomic levels, greater than all that. Of course this connection would never occur these bonds would never exist, in any use of the word exist, because I do not believe in devils anymore than you believe I have seen God. EINSTIEN’S BICYCLE
I can spot from the very start
that Einstein and his bicycle would be very hard to part, his bike was to ride him to relativity, his wheels turned, forging new paths, straightening out this curved little ditty. The twisted pounded poet would never allow a pen to be stolen for without a pen death would have no dominion Prufrock would no longer be served his tea the crumpets of Carrol would all grow stale, singing trumpets would no longer sing. The Squeaky Swing: An Heroic Journey of Sound With a Squeak and a LaughThe wind was extra blustery this day, the day it blew a strong wave my way, this wave of sound. The yellow squeaky swing with hinge that held in sway my daughters laughter next to old small wooden slide. On either side, between a smile, these sounds were home upon a barge that floated down canal of ear to rest upon the shores where sat a drum of bone and flesh, with squeak and laugh this story leaves the shore. Primary Auditory Cortex Primary Auditory Cortex lies in dark, his lair bound by cord of nerve, electrical impulse signals auditory paintings, art, he smiles and waits for sounds, alone and small. So squeak and laugh they vibrate through the drum and then they journey down a complex structure running leaps between the temporal, the cochlear, a fan whose light did brighten up the chamber filled deep. An Encounter with the Vestibular The swing she sat upon was pushed up to peak where endolymph did lie in looped space, here laugh and squeak were jostled. Lost to balance, dizzy squeak held fast to cochlea, they knew this would not last. As every journey must go forth, they held their ground, the apex cochlea in sight, a door through dark, the Helicotremia lay open wide where deep inside the Scala Media their mark, In the Organ of Corti the Organ of Corti, inside the path he sat, Primary Auditory Cortex smiled in dark, "A welcome, Squeak and Laugh, your quest, transduction, at a close, and now from sound to memory your spark will last, when all you sounds will turn to Cochlear Dust, because you brought to blustery times, memory of smiles, of Raspberries, a squeak of hinges, the crest of wave of wind in hair, your laugh, melodic joy."
